Such a great weekend. Held over two days in July this lovely elegant spa town hosts the festival that takes a nostalgic trip down memory lane to pre and post war 1940s. The entire town, draped in Union Jack bunting and flags, dresses up and puts on a spiffing show. Cafes, restaurants, shops, pubs and hotels, plus Jubilee Park, all take an active part in their various displays, with swing music, dancing and re-enactments of all the service men and women of that time. Did I mention Inspector Clouseau was there? And Winston Churchill being chauffeured around town in what I think was a vintage open top Rolls Royce? Plus, loads of fabulous vintage cars, bikes and military vehicles, all saluted by The Battle of Britain fly past. What I love most about this festival is the creativity shown by all the men, women and entire families who dressed up in period costume. My own costume was entirely sourced from eBay at a snip, whilst Nick's was sourced from the House of Fraser out of the goodness of my heart. Well, what else would a discerning man about town expect?! However, there were a variety of market stalls and local boutiques all selling lovely vintage gear where a bargain can easily be discovered as I very soon found. Thanks Woodhall Spa and to the organisers for such a great event. Woodhall Spa Medley from 2015/2016
